Satellite Racing is once again returning to the Virtual Endurance Championship on the rFactor 2 sim racing platform!
Satellite Racing is once again returning to the Virtual Endurance Championship on the rFactor 2 sim racing platform! The Virtual Endurance Championship (VEC) is the highest level of endurance multiclass racing on the rFactor 2 (rF2) service, which makes it no coincidence that Satellite Racing's participation includes not one, but three entries in the GT3 category. The first round of the nine-race championship begins on September 3rd at the historic Autodromo Nazionale di Monza for 6 hours of high intensity multiclass racing.
Jimi Nisula, driver of the 64 Satellite Racing Mclaren GT3:"It's great to be back on VEC grid once again. Last year we managed to finish championship third place, and any lower placement this season would be disappointment. The car category changes, which increases uncertainty and excitement. I believe that we will see several different car models winning races, and BoP can also play a big role. However, I am confident that our car and line-up is strong."
Satellite Racing will be competing the championship in the stout Mclaren 720S GT3, which should be a formidable foe for the field of Aston Martins, Bentleys, BMWs, Porsches, Mercedes, Ferraris, and Corvettes that compose the rest of the GT3 field. Tom Kapusta, driver of the 67:"With preseason testing now firmly in the books it's time to finally start a new season of VEC. Season 16 is going to be one of many firsts for us. First time using GT3 cars, first time with 9 races total in the season and the first time we'll have two 24 hour races. With all those unknowns there's plenty of excitement in the group but also a bit of anxiety. Thankfully this season we'll have plenty of support to help us along. Not only in the shape of our years of experience but also in the form of a brand new partner, Dr. Dabber. We're all very thankful to have them join up with us and together we'll be able to hang onto the excitement and let anxiety be a thing of the past"
Be sure to follow along with the Satellite Racing entries as they compete for the highest honors in sim racing on the rF2 platform through the VEC season!
